Michael’s True North is the belief in the power of a purposeful creative idea guided by ROI-based principles has the power to change lives for the better. 

Prior to joining the Menokin Foundation in 2021, Michael marked a decades long career as an executive leading marketing, communications, and digital efforts at NBC, AOL, ABC, and early stage internet start-ups.

In 2016, Michael founded the Heron Collaborative to collaborate with foundations, non-profits, and education on content strategies that drove growth, discovery, and revenue.  Projects included collaborations with University of Virginia Advancement, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation, UVA Health, The Los Angeles Education Partnership, and Roots of Music New Orleans. 

Michael holds a BA in History with Honors from the University of Virginia, and is an exhibited documentary photographer.  His son Max and wife Vanessa enjoy making fun of him constantly, while Bixby the Wonder Dog stands firm in his defense (most of the time …)
