American College of Building Arts

Three students from the American College of Building Arts - Phineas Davis, Lawson Quam, and Ryan Moran- will spend 7 weeks with Menokin.

This summer, they’ll be using the traditional method of hewing (chopping and shaping wood with forceful hits) to build recreated timbers. These new timbers will be replacement framing for the roof of the house.

Their internship was made possible through the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation.
