Libation Ceremony

Priestess Omiyemi Green leading the Libation Ceremony at the Menokin Remembrance Structure

These photographs are from the Libation Ceremony that took place at the Remembrance Structure in honor of the Ancestors – those that were enslaved at Menokin. The ceremony was led by Priestess Omiyemi Green. The sprinkling and then pouring of the water on the ground symbolizes the sanctity of life and ties life to the Earth.
