Menokin Descendant Judith A. Gordon tells the story of her great grandfather, Daniel west Gordon.

Daniel was enslaved at Menokin, escaped from bondage, and returned to Menokin to be with his family. This photograph of Daniel is the only photograph discovered of an enslaved person at Menokin thus far.
