Sarah Dillard Pope has served as the Executive Director of the Menokin Foundation since 2005.  She brings 20 years of experience in the preservation field at the national, state and local levels to her position, working for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Park Service and the Virginia Main Street program where she provided economic development assistance to 20 communities across the Commonwealth.

Sarah holds a BA in Fine Arts from the College of William and Mary, a masters in historic preservation from the University of Georgia, and a certificate in nonprofit management from George Mason.  She has a special interest in community planning, heritage education, and the revitalization of historic buildings as an economic and workforce development tool. Reared just across the Rappahannock River from Menokin, Sarah is happy to come back to her roots, pursue what she loves, and make it her job.

 

Leslie S. Rennolds brings more than 20 years of marketing and advertising experience to her position as the Assistant Director of the Menokin Foundation. Before coming to Menokin in 2010, Leslie worked at Richmond agencies such as The Martin Agency, Fultz & Associates, and aliceblue, and most recently at Open Door Communications in Kilmarnock, VA.

A native of Fauquier County, Virginia, Leslie now resides with her husband Ben, and daughter, Hannah in Tappahannock. Thrilled to be working within 20 miles of her home for the first time in over two decades, Leslie is enjoying working on designing and writing marketing materials for Menokin along with her other responsibilities. She holds a BA in English from the College of William and Mary.

 

 

Alice French has been working with museums in the Northern Neck since 2007.  Her work has centered around the historic, cultural and tourism community.  At the Westmoreland County Museum she develops and creates programs for the community's diverse populations to include Teacher Institutes, lectures, tours, puppet shows, festivals, school programs and exhibit development.  She also contributes to fundraising, tourism marketing, grant writing, website management and social networking. She has a diverse work history in interior design, set design and art retail management. 

Alice has a BFA in Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, and continues to make various types of art, currently in stained glass.She is married to an architect: Forrest, has three amazing kids: Kate 16, Mathilde 14, and Silas 12, and a bull terrier named Opal.  She loves to canoe, camp and drink a glass of wine on the river.
